What you will do

Our Technology Solutions Group is a dynamic, fast-paced environment, with exciting changes on the horizon under new senior leadership. We are looking for you to build out scalable applications to support our Portfolio Management, Compliance, Finance, Data Governance, Operational Risk, and Human Resources teams. You will need to have in-depth technical knowledge of Java or Python together with strong SQL and should feel comfortable working within large internal and external data sets. What you can expect

  • This DevOps and Cloud Engineer role will work closely with development teams to understand their design/challenges, propose technical solutions, and assist with implementations in our AWS Cloud journey.
  • Identify opportunities to provide self service automation of CI/CD processes and tools; ensure continuous, high velocity build, test, and delivery of software solutions through DevOps automation.
  • Develop automated infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, source code management and new ways to operate and collaborate.
  • Use programming languages including but not limited to Python, Shell/Power scripting, Groovy, CloudFormation and Terraform frameworks.
  • In addition to deep technical expertise and DevOps domain experience, you will bring excellent problem solving, communication and teamwork skills, along with agile ways of working, strong desire to new tools and technology and an inclusive attitude!

What you will bring

  • 3-5 years of proven experience in DevOps or Platform Engineering
  • Strong experience with deploying and managing services in AWS/Azure
  • Ability to speak to software development best practices and industry trends.
  • Strong understanding of source control and git - branching schemes, merge types, conflict resolutions
  • Experience in developing workflow in CI/CD orchestration tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
  • Familiarity with various DevOps domains:

- Software development processes (Java, Python, JavaScript, SQL, Shell, Infrastructure-as-Code, Configuration-as-Code)

- Issue tracking and versioning (Jira)

- Package managers (pip, npm)

- Build tools (Gradle, Maven)

- Containers (Docker, Kubernetes)

- Artifact repositories (Artifactory, ECR, Nexus)

- Deployment tools (CloudFormation, Ansible, Terraform)

- Infrastructure and deployment targets (Cloud, datacenters, containers, SaaS, PaaS)

  • Strong verbal communication skills to address both the development community and business leaders.
  • Strong documentation skills to publish user guides, defects, feature requests, and architecture designs.
  • History of collaboration to develop roles/responsibilities maps and process workflows.
  • Excellent initiative, curiosity, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to perform within a scrum team as well as working independently.

  • AWS / Azure Cloud Certifications
  • Experience in application development (Python, Groovy, JavaScript)
  • Ability to learn new skills and knowledge on an on-going basis through self-initiative and tackling challenges.
  • Familiarity with application security domains (static code analysis, SAST, DAST, SCA, xSPM)
  • Financial Industry experience

Note : Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The annual base salary range for this role is from $115,000 to $140,000. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
