Supervisor - Assembly Orange Line (Agriculture)

Nature & Scope:

Supervises and coordinates employee activities in glass and small parts warehouses.  Including receiving, transporting, stacking, order filling, and maintaining stock records in warehouse. Plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in receiving and warehouse methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.  Typical staff size is 15-25.

Specific Job Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Ensures effective employee relations.  Provides employee coaching and development.  Makes employment decisions.  Resolves Employee issues through problem resolution
  • Interview, select and hire new employees and provide training for new and existing employees
  • Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas.  Works to continuously improve in all areas
  • Manages departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to manager.
  • Provide leadership
  • Performs accident investigations
  • Manages department priorities
  • Tracks absenteeism and time-keeping
  • Responsible for incoming materials and delivery to production lines in timely manner to keep production running
  • Implement Kanban-both at the supplier and point of use in the plant
  • Responsible for cycle counts to ensure 100% inventory accuracy in warehouses
  • Responsible for safety and housekeeping of the warehouses

Qualifications:

 

Education

  • 2-4 year degree in Business Management, APICS certification or equivalent experience.

Skills and Experience

  • 5 years supervisory experience in a Manufacturing environment
  • Proven ability to lead people and get results through others
  • Planning ability with proven results
  • Supervision -Hiring, retention, performance review and discipline.  Employee training and development. Measurement of performance to goals and standards
  • Ability to achieve positive results in key metrics, productivity, quality, and safety
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Team player
  • Quality oriented and attention to detail
  • Problem analysis and resolution skills
  • Proven computer comprehension and skills
