General Pediatrics APRN/PA - Instructor I (Finance)



The Department of Pediatrics at the University of South Florida is seeking an Advanced Practitioner Registered Nurse or Physician's Assistant that will function within a clinical team of professionals working autonomously in relation to the complete management of children and young people, complementing other professionals in the delivery of high-quality service provision. This position uses clinical judgment and autonomous decision-making skills in relation to assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients, and undertaking a range of clinical actions and professional boundaries following assessment of patient need and care requirements. The faculty will be primarily assigned to cover outpatient clinics and the well-baby nursery (no delivery room attendance). It is expected that the candidate will cover newborn nursery weekends, currently shared within the division and are generally assigned 1 weekend out of 6 (Saturday and Sunday).Master's or Medical degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience and otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Instructor.

This position requires graduation from an accredited Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physicians Assistant academic degree program and certification as outlined in Florida Statutes 464 and Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 64, or graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant academic degree program and certification as outlined in Florida Statutes 458 and 459 and Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 64. Must be board eligible in.

Performs professional nurse practitioner or physician assistant care according to established standards, practices, protocols. This includes performing initial components of assessment of patient condition, including history and physical etc.

Administrative:

Participates in QA projects, educational sessions for clinical staff and attends scheduled organizational sessions.

Other:

Performs other duties as assigned by Chair. Preferred: Experience as an Advanced Practice Provider in a family medicine or pediatrics.

Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a State university. Responsible for teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities. Responsible for academic advising and related activities. May represent the university, college/school, or department. Apply
