Business Development Rep - Mining Technology Group (Information Technology)



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to grow SAF's presence in the copper mining market, focusing on electrowinning and electrorefining technologies
  • Prospect and identify new customers and business opportunities through market research and outreach
  • Manage and track a sales funnel; follow up on quotations and leads
  • Build strong relationships with key decision-makers to understand customer needs and align solutions
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to create tailored technical solutions
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations, proposals, and demonstrations of SAF's capabilities
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing to ensure mutually beneficial agreements
  • Monitor market trends, competitors, and industry developments to identify growth opportunities
  • Meet sales targets and adhere to company policies within assigned regions or segments
  • Report regularly on sales activities, pipeline progress, and customer feedback
  • Forecast monthly sales/orders and maintain organized sales data
  • Gather and manage market intelligence to support long-term strategic decisions

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • College or University degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field required
  • Minimum 5 years of proven sales experience in the mining industry, particularly with technical solutions and services
  • Solid understanding of electrowinning and electrorefining processes within copper mining operations
  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets and drive business development initiatives
  • Experience in market development, including prospecting, lead generation, and account management
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and other sales tools

  • Natural relationship-builder with the ability to engage decision-makers and develop long-term client partnerships
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills with technical acumen
  • Effective in prospecting and skilled in active listening and strategic questioning
  • High level of personal motivation and ambition to succeed in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally, particularly to South America
  • Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred to support international customer engagement

Certifications:

  • Ability to obtain MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) certification required for site visits and compliance with industry safety standards
