Role description:

Arcadis is seeking an Engineer to join our Environmental Business Line team in Sewickley, PA to support our existing remediation portfolio and growing portfolio in PFAS and emerging contaminants. We are looking for a detail-oriented candidate with strong organizational, communication, and team building skills.

You will work alongside Senior Engineers, Project/Program Managers, and Technical Experts on various activities in support of diverse environmental assessment and remediation projects, including remediation investigation, remedial strategy development, engineering design, and implementation including remedial system installation/operation and maintenance, soil excavation, ISCO injections, and enhance bioremediation.

Role accountabilities:

  • Preparing Feasibility Studies and completing pilot testing activities

  • Engineering design and remedial strategy implementation including preparation of various request for proposals, review of submitted proposals, and direct subcontractor management

  • Reviewing of ongoing monitoring of treatment systems and developing optimization recommendations and field scopes of work

  • Providing program support for a variety of projects underway for the US Federal Government, industrial and Oil & Gas clients.

  • Assisting with the development of technical reports, presentations, cost-estimates, and proposals

  • Working effectively with local, national, and global technical and client teams.

  • Developing visual, graphical, and tabular summaries of environmental data and trends

  • Coordinating work schedules with subcontractors

  • Conducting project related research (historical data, regulations, etc.)

The ideal candidate for this position will possess demonstrated experience in remediation engineering for soil and groundwater, as well as expertise in water and vapor treatment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office-based software programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is essential for effectively managing and presenting data. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly in technical writing, are crucial for clear and concise reporting. A strong focus on health and safety is paramount, along with the ability to build and organize teams effectively, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment.

The role requires travel, approximately 25% of the time, to assist in the field with investigations and sampling, conduct pilot studies, implementation of full-scale remedial efforts, and participate in face-to-face meetings with clients, technical teams, and other stakeholders. A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related engineering degree

  • 2 to 6 years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Engineer In Training (EIT)

  • Current OSHA HAZWOPER Certification

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $57,786 - $92,457. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
