Staffing Manager (Administrative)



We are currently looking for a full-time Staffing Manager. The Staffing Manager handles every aspect of nursing staffing and scheduling for the Health Center and on occasions for the RAL Units. They are responsible for staffing, recruiting, training, and retaining team members. They combine both scheduling and human resource functions to fully serve their clients, and the team members they serve. Ensure that the staffing requirements are always met, and team members work in a friendly & supportive environment.

STAFFING MANAGER ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for preparing the monthly schedule for nurses and aides based on census needs. This includes actions needed to fill open shifts on a daily basis. The schedule must be posted at least 2 weeks in advance.
  • Closely monitor the headcount to ensure the Health Center is meeting the census and budget requirements. Post daily and or weekly updates to the schedule.
  • Maintain and prepare the Daily Nursing Analysis and staffing calculations for Long Term Care facilities.
  • Staffing Manager will assist with managing job applications channels, identify new talent, and screen applicants. Screening may include skills testing, and drug screenings.
  • Assist with interviewing potential candidates.
  • Assist the D.O.N. by liaising with Human Resources to fill vacancies in a timely manner.
  • Perform a variety of administrative duties, including filling out paperwork, creating training materials, and keeping records of all applicants and new hires.
  • Develop work schedules by allocating team members in shifts and positions based on census needs.

STAFFING MANAGER ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS/BA in human resources, business administration or relevant field required. 2-years staffing experience in nursing preferred.
  • Familiarity with long term care of the older adults, and state and federal rules and regulations governing skilled nursing facilities and adult congregate living facilities preferred
  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate with all team members
  • Proven experience as staffing coordinator or similar position
  • Experience in planning and execution of HR plans (recruiting, onboarding, hiring etc.)
  • Solid knowledge of relevant legal regulations (equal employment opportunity, relocation, laws, etc.)
  • Knowledge of staffing policies, procedures and best practices
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Reliable with a respect to confidentiality
