F135 HMC Test Engineer - 2nd shift
The F135 Heavy Maintenance Center (HMC) Engine Test Engineer is primarily responsible for managing engine test for F135 overhauled/repaired engine modules at the Pratt & Whitney Oklahoma City (PWOC) HMC located on Tinker Air Force Base. This includes interpreting customer requirements and combining those with PWOC best practices to prepare the engine modules for test and support PWOCâ€s partner; Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center (OKALC) US Air Force during engine test. The F135 Test Engineer will support Power Plant Engineering and other functions including Materials, Operations, Quality Assurance.
Key Job Requirements:
Prepare engine for test overseeing, pre-test preparation, engine test, post engine test, final check out and ship.
Interpret customer requirements and combined with PWOC specific tasks, provide engineering direction in how to proceed with work scoping.
Provide engineering support for shop visit including responding to technical questions, substantiating and authorizing technical documents (Solumina WCD, TOs, LEAs, EA and IENs).
Perform test cell performance analysis for engine visits.
Prepare shop visit reports and supply to the customer within the stipulated time frame.
Support Operations in solving any assembly/configuration/inspection problems for specific engine visits.
Troubleshoot engines in test cell.
Do appropriate research and support and advise other functional areas regarding technical issues and trends.
Communicate with the necessary functional groups, vendors and customers on any technical related issues. When required, engineers will accompany
materials, quality or accounts management employees on vendor and customer visits to provide routine technical support and assessment.
Seek opportunities to reduce costs and increase quality and efficiency through the use of new materials, processes, or technology.
Assist in training mechanics, inspectors and others related to various technical issues.
Demonstrate commitment to the EH&S and continuous improvement programs by complying with all policies and procedures, completing all required training and supporting all applicable committee activities.
