JOB SUMMARY

The Shipping / Receiving & Production Technician will work to maintain daily transactions of all items received to the dock and all customer shipments leaving the dock. This role will also cross train in some production areas to assist daily Production as needed

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Verify, sign off, and enter receipt of incoming shipments into Oracle in a timely manner
  • Visually inspect contents to ensure packages aren't damaged
  • Collaborate with procurement staff to determine expected deliveries and assist with any matching hold issues that arise
  • Compare identifying information (counts, weights or measures) of shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
  • Manage and monitor the usage of supply crib items, in collaboration with the buyer, and disburse items as needed to appropriate departments
  • Operate company box truck in safe and orderly fashion, following state and local driving laws
  • Coordinate with CPP Eastlake and CPP Euclid shipping/receiving personnel as needed.
  • Load/Unload product and pack parts for shipment.
  • Operate pallet jacks and powered industrial vehicles to move product, supplies, materials, etc. as needed.
  • Assist with WIP audits and inventories as needed
  • Operate and monitor critical production machinery while adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Document and perform basic troubleshooting on production machinery
  • Maintain traceability records, operator logs, and material movement logs
  • Support plant 5S efforts & maintain organization, cleanliness, and workflow improvements
  • Uphold all safety protocols & procedures
  • Other duties & tasks as assigned based on business need.


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • At least 1 year experience driving a box truck preferred.
  • At least 1 year of production/manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Certifications/Licenses: Valid driver's license required.
  • Must have a clean motor vehicle record (MVR)
  • Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Read. Write legibly. Basic computer skills. Good verbal communication skills. Good written communication skills. Detail oriented. Sense of urgency.


WORKING ENVIRONMENT
  • Working Environment: Manufacturing plant floor environment. Driving will occur in a variety of weather conditions including, but not limited to, snow, rain, heat, cold. When at the location: Can be cold: next to shipping and the outside bay door
  • Physical Demands: Sitting/Standing for extended periods of time, extended period of time driving, able to lift up to 50lbs, extended periods of time using a computer screen, extended periods of time talking, listening. Bending. Reach.
  • Required PPE: Check for required PPE in areas you may be working in. Must follow PPE requirements when at vendor locations.
  • Safety Glasses: Needed in all areas of the plant.
  • Steel toe shoes: Needed in all areas of the plant.
