Payroll Specialist III (Finance)



Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for performing a wide variety of tasks pertaining to the payroll function for corporate and all subsidiaries

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure the accurate and timely completion of payroll by: • Process complete payroll function for entire entity (corporate and all subsidiaries).Entering timesheet information, bonuses, garnishments, calculate arrears & STD payments, gross-ups, lump sum amounts and all other additions and changes into the computerized payroll records.
• Receiving biweekly timesheets from employees. Reviewing all timesheets for compliance with company policy. (Manager approval, ADNOI, STD and FMLA) • Responsible and accountable for the accuracy of the payroll processing by reviewing / auditing the biweekly payroll reports from ADP to ensure additions and changes have been properly reflected and to ensure accurate paychecks are issued and accurate accounting records are maintained.
• Responsible for maintenance of ADP System. (Co. setup of new Locals, Deductions, Paycodes, Financial Institutions) • Discuss payroll matters with employees. Resolve payroll problems. Prepare manual checks as needed.
• Enter all Taxable/Non-Taxable benefits to ensure they are recorded and reflected on W-2's prepared by ADP (awards, tuition, moving and relocation, etc.). • Complete mortgage verification and unemployment forms.

• Create reports utilized by Finance and HR:

• Utilizing Payroll System to create reports that sort and analyze payroll data. Includes any

ad hoc reports requested and all biweekly payroll reports for both finance and HR that are

needed each pay and also monthly payroll reports needed by each group.

• Manage year end responsibilities by:

• Enter all employee's voluntary elections for new year

• Remain current on all payroll laws and regulations by:

• Attending ADP seminars and other seminars relating to payroll; maintaining and reviewing

a subscription to payroll guides, i.e. The American Payroll Association Basic Guide to

Payroll; and obtaining other payroll information tools.

• Other projects and duties as assigned

• Serve as subject matter expert on any teams and projects as assigned by payroll manager or

controller

• Learn manager tasks thru cross training and knowledge sharing

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• N/A

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Payroll software experience required, ADP Work Force Now experience required.

• Accounting experience preferred.

• Good technical knowledge of payroll and payroll processes.

• Ability to follow standard practices and procedures in order to resolve basic issues.

• Ability to follow detailed instructions.

• Ability to work both independently and under close supervision.

• Ability to build stable working relationships internally.

• Ability to listen and understand information and communicate the same.

• Must possess good organizational skills and strong attention to detail.

• Must be results oriented, customer focused, and exhibit good interpersonal skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft office packages.

• Sufficient knowledge of business communications, including telephone, voicemail, and e-mail and

operations of office machines, such as photocopier, scanner, and fax

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent work experience preferred. Certificate in Payroll Administration preferred.

• Six (6) years plus of payroll experience in a multi-state environment.

• Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience

Pay Transparency Statement:

US Base Salary Range: $47,000.00 - $61,100.00

Base pay offered to new hires may vary based upon factors including relevant industry and job-related skills and experience, geographic location, and business needs.* The range displayed does not encompass the full potential of the role, which allows for further growth and career progression.

In addition, as a part of our total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Vertex Bonus Plan (VOB), a role-specific sales commission/bonus, and/or equity grants.
