GPI seeks a Director of Construction Services in our Albany, NY, Branch. In this position, you will direct and manage all construction services relating to the NYSDOT and NYSTA in our Albany Branch, including staff recruitment, oversight of field staff and operations, project administration, business development, and participation in proposal writing and fee estimates. Our Albany Branch primarily serves throughout NYSDOT Regions 1, 2, 7, 8, and 9. This position plays a crucial role in branch operations. For more information, visit:www.gpinet.com Responsibilities: Serve as a point of contact and maintain strong relationships with clients Recruit, hire, and manage inspection staff Review project documents to establish scope, staffing needs, and fees for inspection services Negotiate agreements and fees with clients Manage construction inspection operations Provide support for inspection staff Manage sub-consultants Develop and approve monthly invoices Assist with the development of department goals and budget Assist in the development of new clients Qualifications: 20+ years experience working in the construction inspection industry with preference given to transportation (road and bridge) projects utilizing NYSDOT Standard Specificationsfor Construction and Materials and NYSDOT Manual of Uniform Record Keeping (MURK) NY Professional Engineering License (required) Experience working on NYSDOT and/or NYSTA projects (preferred)
