Solution Design - Creates and defines the solution design complete with instrumentation and measurement, using Cummins IT processes, standards and tools, version control, and build and test automation to synthesize diagrams, models and documentation in order to build a solution that meets buildability, business, technical, security, governance and compliance requirements.Solution Functional Fit Analysis - Composes and decomposes a system into its component parts using procedures, tools and work aides for the purpose of studying how well the component parts were designed, purchased and configured to interact holistically to meet business, technical, security, governance and compliance requirements.
Solution Modeling - Creates, designs and formulates models, diagrams and documentation using Cummins IT processes, standards, tools, version control, and build and test automation to meet business, technical, security, governance and compliance requirements.
Solution Configuration - Configures, creates and tests a solution for commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) applications using Cummins IT processes, standards and tools, version control, and build and test automation to meet business, technical, security, governance and compliance requirements.
Data Modeling - Creates, writes and tests data models, test scripts and build scripts using Cummins IT processes, standards and tools, version control, and build and test automation to meet business, technical, security, governance and compliance requirements.
Performance Tuning - Conceptualizes, analyzes and solves application, database and hardware problems using Cummins IT processes, standards and tools, version control, and build and test automation to meet business, technical, security, governance and compliance requirements.

Education, Licenses, Certifications
College, university, or equivalent degree in Information Technology, Business or a related subject required.Experience
Proficiency in a modern programming language such as C, C++, C(#), Objective C, Java, Javascript or Python
Experience building complex software systems which are successfully delivered to customers
1-3 Years of experience in an Agile software engineering shop
Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, & operations
Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project
Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, & technical designs
Experience with distributed systems
Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain & improve software
Develop a team of Software Engineers
Experienced in development on AWS
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
