EPL Senior Complex Handler and Project Leader (Finance)



JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a technically superior EPL talent that can handle difficult claims and deliver top results. This individual would, on a day-to-day basis, work on individual severe claims, identify trends and provide training, and manage on a matrix basis handlers who are responsible for severe claims. They also would be key to overall training and ensuring best practices while handling special projects within this space. This position will work out of our Jersey City, NJ or Philadelphia, PA offices and is not a remote opportunity.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as the EPL claims liaison reporting on claim trends, large losses, emerging risks and policy language refinement. Through these interactions, ensure the claim's handling approach is in line with underwriting intent.
  • Serve as primary claim resource for claims management and underwriting/product management leadership in new product/endorsement drafting and review, and provide guidance and direction to manager, supervisors and/or examiners regarding same.
  • Act as a Senior Technical Resource on Coverage issues and Training. Ensure technical expertise and education of claims staff.
  • Broker and insured outreach including marketing visits, and/or market brand initiatives. Participate in industry seminars (as warranted).
  • Interface with actuaries and underwriting and assist in analysis and preparation of analytical/trending reports/presentations for discussion with actuaries, underwriting, tower lead and/or senior leadership (EWS or Watchlists, pipeline, etc.).
  • In collaboration with tower lead, identify and establish criteria for tracking, handling/coring and oversight of systemic or quasi-systemic type claims and oversee data analysis.
  • Liaison with vendor management team to ensure vendor panel is up to date, onboard new vendors and identify any vendor issues.
  • Direct responsibility for a select number of complex, severe or systemic EPL claims.
Qualifications:
  • Strong EPL background, with compliance and regulatory experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education; Juris Doctorate preferred.
  • Designations from CPCU, SCLA, AIC, etc. are preferred.
  • Demonstrated management and leadership capabilities.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of cyber/professional liability EPL claims handling experience.
  • Extensive coverage/contract knowledge.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills.
  • Technical competencies in coverage application, litigation, and contractual relationships.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, including large-group presentation skills.
  • Articulate in both written and oral communication.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to cultivate and maintain business relationships with a wide spectrum of people both internally and externally.
  • If you do not already have one, you will be required to obtain an applicable resident or designated home state adjusters license and possibly additional state licensure.
The pay range for the role is $101,600 to $172,700. The specific offer will depend on an applicant's skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program. Chubb offers a comprehensive benefits package, more details on which can be found on our careers website. The disclosed pay range estimate may be adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location in which the position is filled.
