What Requirements Are Needed to be Successful in This Position:
Basic Functions:
Responsible for managing the day to day field operations for new homebuyer projects. Personally perform and manage others in the performance of tasks directly related to building Habitat homes, while upholding the standard of partnerships, quality, safety, and team participation. The associate should show initiative, represent Habitat in a positive and professional manner, and be able to adhere to schedules and deadlines.
Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned):
Project Management
Perform all tasks with little supervision
Manage all aspects of the New construction process from project start to completion
Plan for each work day to insure that all necessary resources- material and human- are available to complete the task list
Supervise, monitor, and delegate tasks to volunteers, home owners and other team members as appropriate. o Complete walkthrough reports (safety, framing, and final) in a timely manner
Notify the appropriate team member, in a timely manner, when team resources are needed for specific jobs
Maintain quality of construction in accordance with local, state, federal, and Habitat Charlotte Region building standards
Utilize Habitat's administrative tools for job management, e. g. the construction manual, safety guidelines, ordering forms, volunteer management, OneDrive, etc
Directly supervise New Construction Apprentices, Assistants, and AmeriCorps Members, as assigned, providing construction and leadership training, mentoring, and daily instruction
Maintain flexibility of schedule to utilize volunteers, help other supervisors, and respond to specific homeowner and office requests
Utilize knowledge and skills of residential construction to efficiently complete projects
Develop and maintain good communication with building suppliers, subcontractors, trade professionals, Church leaders and other potential volunteers and donors
Communicate with subcontractors and inspectors to ensure that their tasks are completed thoroughly, and efficiently, with minimal call - backs and according to the established standards of quality
Maintain safe and effective working order of Habitat tools and equipment
Be an effective team member when working with staff and volunteers
Good verbal communication skills
Demonstrate a positive and respectful attitude when interacting with employees, homeowners, volunteers and the public
Show initiative
Regular and reliable job attendance
Adhere to schedule
Represent Habitat in a positive, professional manner
Required: CPR/First Aid, OSHA certification
Preferred: NC General Contractors License, Green Building Certifications, Bachelors Degree
Ability to operate Microsoft office programs, OneDrive
Willingly adhere to Habitats Code of Conduct Policy and any other policies set forth by the organization
Habitat Charlotte Region related tasks as requested by supervisor
Physical requirements:
Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding
Ability to work and maneuver on roofs and high spaces
Ability to work in tight confines and crawlspaces
Ability to maneuver over uneven ground
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
Ability to stand most or all of any given day
Ability to work outside for extended periods of time during all months of the year

Apprentices, when assigned, will report directly to the Site Supervisor
Service Week: Tuesday through Saturday
Required Meetings: Weekly construction meetings, weekly all-staff meetings
Personal Vehicle: Personal Construction vehicle required
Estimated Time Commitment: 40-45 hours / week
