RN Proton Therapy Navigator (Finance)

Work Schedule:
This is a full-time, 100% FTE salaried position. The scheduled shifts are primarily Monday-Friday day shifts, between the hours of 7:00 am - 5:00 pm. Hours may vary based on the needs of the department. You will work at Eastpark Medical Center in Madison, WI.

We are seeking an RN Proton Therapy Navigator to:

  • Be a leader at the Carbone Cancer Center and serve at the forefront providing care to primarily adult patients receiving the latest state-of-the-art cutting edge radiation therapies.
  • Navigate care for patients receiving upright proton beam therapy, which offers fewer side effects and more accurately targets the area to be treated.
  • Assess patients' barriers to care, psychosocial, and learning needs to advocate for and support patients and caregivers, collaboratively with teams and support services, as we strive to provide equitable care and outcomes for our patients.
  • Facilitate timely and coordinated transitions of care, provide anticipatory guidance, provide patient and caregiver education, provide guidance in the shared decision-making process, and provide mental and emotional support to patients and caregivers through the continuum of cancer care.
  • Participate in weekly multidisciplinary roundtable sessions and tumor board meetings.
  • Participate in continuous quality and process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Required or
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing and achievement of BSN within 4 years of hire Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred
  • Master's Degree in Nursing, Social Work, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or related field Preferred

Work Experience

  • 3 years of relevant clinical nursing experience Required
  • 1 year of nursing experience in oncology care Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

  • Registered Nurse license in the state of Wisconsin Required
  • Basic Life Support/CPR Required
  • Applicable Oncology certification based on patient population Preferred
