Intern (Finance)

Position Summary

The IoT Intern will work in support of the Moran Tug IoT project, which involves the streaming of mechanical data from the company's fleet of modern ship-docking vessels to the cloud and the subsequent analysis of this data.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to:

• Developing and maintaining deployed software, including QA/QC and testing.
• Creating support and analysis applications for the project.
• Developing and maintaining the company's Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure.
• Hardware sourcing, installation, and logistics.
• Analyzing mechanical and electrical data.
• Developing machine learning models.

Required Qualifications

• Software development and coding experience, demonstrable through either course work or examples.
• Demonstrated ability to:

o Effectively communicate verbally and in writing.

o Establish and maintain professional working relationships.

o Prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.

o Evaluate process effectiveness and develop changes or alternatives.

o Effectively manage tasks that may vary in nature and scope.

o Indirectly mentor, coach, train, and/or assist peers.

Preferred Qualifications

• General mechanical engineering experience.
• Computer science experience.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, Docker, and/or Python.

Physical Abilities include the ability to:

• Perform inspections within confined spaces (limited access/head room).
• Climb, reach overhead, and lift to a maximum of 50 pounds occasionally.
• Work in a wide range of temperatures and environments.

Our target pay for the Intern position is $25.00 per hour. This pay range represents Moran's commitment to pay transparency and is a reasonable estimate of possible compensation for this role at the time of posting. The final salary for this role will be determined based on careful consideration of a variety of factors, such as the candidate's exact location, experience, and expertise related to the qualifications.
