Global Head of Financial Management Technology (Finance)

Reporting to the Global Chief Data Officer & CIO Financial Management and Corporate Technology, the Global Head of Financial Management Technology will lead the strategy, modernization, and delivery of the technology platforms that power Prudential's Financial Management (FM) function.

At Prudential, FM is a core engine of how we operate as a global financial institution: enabling pricing, capital allocation, risk management, and regulatory reporting. FM technology supports critical actuarial, finance, investment, and risk capabilities across the enterprise.

You will lead the evolution of this ecosystem, building on strong foundations to deliver integrated, modern, and scalable platforms. Working in close partnership with Finance, Actuarial, the Chief Investment Office, Financial Risk, and enterprise technology teams, you'll drive a product-led, cloud-ready, data-enabled transformation. This is a pivotal leadership role with the mandate to enhance agility, enable analytics, and ensure operational excellence in one of Prudential's most strategically important domains. We're looking for an inspirational technical leader excited about the prospect of using technology to transform Prudential's Financial Management function.

This role is based in Newark, NJ.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Transformation

  • Develop and execute comprehensive technology strategy aligned with business objectives for finance, actuarial, risk and investment operations
  • Lead digital transformation initiatives to modernize legacy systems and processes across FM functions
  • Partner with Finance, Actuarial, and Investment Office leadership teams to identify opportunities for technology-enabled business improvements
  • Drive innovation through emerging technologies including cloud computing, artificial intelligence, modeling and advanced analytics
  • Establish technology roadmaps that balance operational stability with strategic evolution

Operational Excellence & System Management

  • Ensure reliable, secure, and efficient operation of all financial management technology systems
  • Oversee system performance, availability, and disaster recovery capabilities
  • Manage vendor relationships and technology partnerships supporting financial operations
  • Implement robust governance frameworks for system changes, upgrades, and maintenance
  • Monitor and optimize system performance to meet business service level agreements

  • Build and lead a high-performing technology team, emphasizing stretch goals, psychological safety, accountability and shared purpose

FM Technology Portfolio Management

  • Oversee core global financial systems including general ledger, treasury, payments, financial reporting, budgeting and planning tools, consolidation platforms and statutory/GAAP reporting systems
  • Manage actuarial technology stack including pricing models, reserving systems, ALM systems, economic scenario generators and regulatory capital calculation tools
  • Ensure robust investment management technology supporting comprehensive portfolio management, risk analytics, performance attribution, collateral management and global hedging functions
  • Manage enterprise financial risk technology including market and credit risk, stress testing frameworks, model risk management and integrated risk reporting
  • Coordinate integration between all financial management systems and enterprise-wide technology platforms
  • Collaborate with FM Data peer to ensure data governance and lineage across all financial systems to support accurate reporting, regulatory compliance and business decision making

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 15+ years of progressive technology leadership experience in financial service, preferably insurance
  • 10+ years managing complex financial technology systems and platforms
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale system transformations and modernization projects
  • Deep understanding of financial systems architecture, including ERP, financial reporting, treasury and data management platforms
  • Experience with actuarial modeling systems, statistical software, and risk management technologies
  • Experience of investment management systems, portfolio analytics, and trading platforms
  • Proficiency in cloud technologies, data analytics, and modern software development practices
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements affecting financial technology systems (GAAP, IFRS, Solvency II, etc.)
  • Strong strategic thinking and business acumen with ability to translate business needs into technology solutions
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively present to both senior executives and junior developers
  • Proven ability to manage large budgets and complex vendor relationships
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and driving organizational change
  • Strong project management and program delivery capabilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certifications in technology management (PMP, ITIL, AWS/Azure Cloud Architect, etc.) or financial services (CFA, CPA, FSA/FCAS, etc.)
  • Industry & domain expertise
  • Experience with life, annuity or pension risk transfer operations
  • Experience with insurance-specific regulatory environments (e.g. NAIC, Japan FSA, etc.)
  • Understanding of insurance product development, pricing methodologies and distribution channels
  • Familiarity with reinsurance requirements and related technology support
