For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $150,000 - $175,000 per year, and the expected commission range is $ 90,000 - $110,000 per year.

The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Schneider is seeking an Associate Director to help lead a growing and exciting offer to help corporations continue along their sustainability and renewable energy journeys. This position will help lead the strategic and tactical implementation for Schneider Electric's Tax Credit Investment Services team. The Tax Credit Investment Services team supports and educates Schneider Clients on strategic tax credit investments into renewable energy, advanced manufacturing and other related technologies in order to drive the US energy transition, reduce their carbon footprints and meet sustainability goals.

This position is a unique opportunity to join the Renewable Energy and Carbon Advisory team within Schneider's Sustainability Business. Schneider is the world's leading corporate renewable energy advisor, having advised on over 20,000MW of corporate PPAs, 100 million EACs, and 100+ million metric tons of carbon offsets. Our Tax Credit Investment Advisory team has successfully closed over $1.7B in tax transactions in the past 18 months on behalf of clients, and currently represents clients with over $10B in annual US tax liability. What will you do?

Hold primary responsibility as team leader and tax credit subject matter expert for the successful sourcing, negotiation, diligence and closing of tax credit transactions on behalf of our advised clients. This includes activities which the Associate Director is expected to participate to varying degrees:

  • Prior to contracting with the Client (sales support role)
  • Program Design Set-Up with Client and Deal Lead (supporting role)
  • Project Management of stakeholder education and transaction readiness of Client (supporting role)
  • Sourcing and evaluation of renewable energy projects (supporting role)
  • Providing subject-matter expertise for Client throughout the process (lead role)

Program and Offer Leadership
  • Shape and develop innovation in bringing new corporate investors into the renewables market, including significant new capital to a $20+ billion tax equity market
  • Lead the further refinement and standardization of materials, processes, and systems to implement successful Tax Credit Services for Clients
  • Create and refine standard sales materials, templates, proposals, pricing tools, and any other necessary system to accelerate the sales team's ability to scale Tax Credit Services
  • Assist with the education, training, and implementation of the Tax Credit Services offering into the Business Development and Client Delivery teams
  • Coordinate with the Program Coordinator and wider team to record and manage Client and prospect data relevant to revenue forecasting, communications, contract information, etc. in Salesforce
  • Create regular reports on progress of Tax Credit Services to management
  • Organize all files, folders, Salesforce activities, and other resources for ease of navigation for wider team
  • Development and ownership of project schedules for internal and external stakeholders
  • Work with and on behalf of Schneider team and broader Schneider to further improve and enhance customer satisfaction re: the delivery of Tax Credut Investment scopes of work
  • Collaborate closely with Business Development team to optimize service offer, marketing collateral, sales team awareness levels and abilities to acquire new clients and expand service revenue.
  • Demonstrate and provide thought leadership regarding renewable energy investment, goal-setting and achievement, and program optimization for client benefit and value.
  • Design standardized and scalable processes to support expansion of customer base and increase efficiency.

This job might be for you if have:

  • Degree in Finance, Law or a related technical field preferred
  • Required extensive experience with renewable energy development or similar industry experience in investment banking, corporate finance, or consulting
  • Required significant renewable energy tax equity finance experience (ITC, PTC, various structures), either on the buy side or the sell side, and knowledge of renewable energy project economics
  • Detailed knowledge of critical aspects of renewable energy project underwriting, including equipment and performance review as well as a baseline understanding of U.S. energy markets including regulatory structures, physical and synthetic forms of power agreements and derivatives, as well as renewables-focused regional incentives.
  • Experience diligencing PV, storage or wind projects.
  • Familiarity with transaction-based workstreams such as debt or tax equity financing, M&A, etc.
  • High degree of familiarity with utilizing project finance models to underwrite debt and/or tax equity.
  • Understanding of tax equity documentation (i.e. LLCAs, ECCAs, and MIPAs) and customary investor reporting requirements.
  • Project Management experience working with complex projects, ideally those involving delivery through digital platforms or technologies
  • A strong interest in renewable energy services with a focus on solar and wind project finance and project management
  • Demonstrated success establishing and fostering partnerships with key customers
  • Strong knowledge of foundational elements of project finance
  • Strong aptitude for learning new and different topics, particularly regarding decarbonization, marketing communications, renewable energy development, and digitization
  • Versatility and the ability to work across multiple disciplines
  • Creativity and ability to formulate and implement service and deliverable enhancements
  • Ability to work well with a large network of internal colleagues, including a proven track record managing cross-disciplinary projects and delivering milestones on-time
  • Proven ability to successfully manage customer interactions, including calendar management, setting and leading agendas, leading clients through meetings, summarizing key takeaways & action items, etc.
  • High commitment to company vision, values, and excellent customer service with high quality work product
  • Ability to communicate, both written and verbally, analyses and ideas in a concise, effective manner
