What is the Opportunity?:

As a Revenue Accounting Manager, you'll be a key player in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our revenue recognition practices. You'll blend your expertise in technical accounting with a sharp eye for process optimization, directly impacting our financial reporting and compliance. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, and continuously refining our approach to revenue in a dynamic environment.

  • Perform comprehensive technical accounting reviews of new product offerings as well as broader route-to-market programs, ensuring proper revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 and other relevant US GAAP pronouncements. This includes evaluating complex terms, identifying performance obligations, and determining appropriate revenue allocation and timing, with a focus on accurate reflection in our ERP reporting systems (Oracle Fusion RMCS).
  • Prepare and maintain revenue accounting memos and position papers, that clearly document conclusions and rationale for complex transactions, ensuring full compliance with US GAAP.
  • Drive the definition and continuous improvement of revenue accounting policies, with a strong emphasis on operationalizing these policies across cross-functional teams and systems.
  • Collaborate closely with FP&A and Sales Finance along with Product Management and Marketing to provide technical accounting insights that support accurate revenue and SaaS metrics.
  • Develop and deliver targeted training programs on revenue recognition rules and policies to key partners, including Deal Desk, Legal, and Sales, Sales Operations/Fulfillment, ensuring consistent application and understanding.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on US GAAP developments related to revenue recognition, proactively assessing their impact on Omnissa and implementing necessary changes to ensure accurate revenue accounting.
  • Design, implement, and monitor robust reviews over the revenue recognition process, identifying and evaluating actions required for ongoing compliance.
  • Champion process improvements within the revenue accounting function, especially by leveraging new technologies and automation to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.
  • Execute timely and accurate month-end close activities, including preparing complex revenue-related journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and generating comprehensive reporting.
  • Support external audit requests related to revenue.

What will you bring to Omnissa?

  • Relevant experience with a background from a Big 4 accounting firm (consulting) or Revenue background within SaaS based multinational companies preferred.
  • An active ACA or CPA designation and industry accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge / ASC 606 literature / Revenue accounting knowledge is must
  • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work within a team to expedite completion of projects with other teams including FP&A, Sales, Pricing, and Information Systems.
  • Experience with MS Office software including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Oracle and other ERP is preferred.
