Completing 4473 and A&D paperwork with 100% accuracy and an innate attention to detail.
Coaching, counseling, and training employees while creating and maintaining a compelling presentation of merchandise at the same time.
Ensuring firearms are displayed safety and in a way where customers can easily view them.
Being completely responsible for accurate firearm audits at any given time.
Maintaining awareness of competitors' performance.
Exceeding sales and customer service goals to maintain and improve company standards.
Training and mentoring employees in store policies, department procedures, and ensure they have an overall understanding of their day-to-day duties.
Monitoring slow moving merchandise and acting to improve sales, and also recommending merchandise that should be added or removed to the department.
Working with our customers - listening to concerns, resolving issues, examining returned merchandise, and continuing to make Big R a place people want to return.
Verifying merchandise is accurately priced and correctly displayed, while maintaining appropriate inventory levels on the shelf.
Gathering information from customers as they react to products we do or don't offer.
Monitoring signage during sales, updating or removing as merchandise volume changes.
Other duties and projects as assigned in the everchanging world of retail.
What You Bring to the Job
Strong ability to communicate with people from many different backgrounds and do so effectively with customers and employees.
You know how to manage your time to make sure things get done right and on time.
You're self-motivated so you don't need people to tell you what to do and you have the ability to motivate those around you to do the same.
You're able to productively supervise others and work closely with other department heads.
Requirements
Flexibility to meet business needs, including working evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
Must be able to do some lifting and moving of heavier inventory--up to 25 pounds--in the store with or without accommodation.
You'll need to move around the store to help customers and employees.
