Grounds Maintenance Supervisor (Finance)
Direct supervision of grounds maintenance personnel including their training, performance reviews and scheduling. Report performance, discipline concerns to Operations Manager.
Operate safely and effectively: Pick-up truck with snow plow and Salter, Tractor with front end loader, Pay loader, Gators, Lawn mowers, weed eaters, push mowers, edger, blowers, Tillers, aerators, hand tools (i.e., rakes, shovels, chemical sprayers)
Notify Operations Manager of materials needed/required to perform tasks per GSA contract.
Follow all policies and procedures outlined by Navigations, Inc. including all related to safety and ensures supervised employees do the same.
Perform/supervise grounds maintenance per GSA contract direction and specifications.
Perform vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair needs as required and practical.
Inspect work performance of personnel and outside contractors to ensure compliance to all GSA contract requirements.
Completion of required billing and tracking forms as required by Operations Manager.
Immediately notify Operations Manager of any concerns regarding safety or damage to premises.
Report to Operations Manager as requested or required.
Ability to obtain pesticide applicator certification through Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDAR)
Additional Duties:
Monitor company cell phone 24/7 365 and promptly respond to calls, emails and text messages from Operations Manager, or GSA.
Perform other related duties and assignments as required or directed by Operations Manager.
Position may include occasional night or weekend duties.
Results Expected:
Ensure grounds maintenance complies with the contract requirements.
Ensure that equipment, supplies, staffing are adequate to meet contractual commitments.
Ensure work performance of supervised personnel.
Co-ordinate scheduling of Navigations and contracted personnel to ensure contract timeline obligations are met as required.
Complete reports and supporting documents within timelines specified by contract or management.
Communicate daily with Operations Manager on any and all pertinent information regarding any schedule changes or special projects.
Support Operations Manager as requested.
Position Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.
Must be able to obtain/maintain Homeland Security Clearance
Must have valid driver's license and driving record acceptable to general liability insurance carrier's standards.
Two years prior work experience in the grounds maintenance industry.
Two years recent supervisory experience.
Working with, and knowledge of, personnel with disabilities helpful.
Good communication and organizational skills. Basic computer skills.
Ability to maintain accurate records.
Mechanical repair skills and knowledge preferred.

Outdoors, All Weather Conditions (Hot, Cold, Rain, Snow).
Work around dangerous equipment.
Lifting, twisting, bending, reaching, standing, extended walking.
Use of all equipment listed in job functions above.
Exposure to chemicals normally used in the performance of duties related to all aspects of ground maintenance.
