Forklift Operator (Transportation)
Position: Forklift Operator
Pay for the Forklift Operator: $22.15/ hour + appropriate shift differentials!
Shift(s):
- Thursday - Saturday w/ alternating Wedensday on Nights (6:30pm - 7am)
- Monday - Friday 7am - 3:30pm
- Monday - Friday 3:00pm - 11:30pm
- Monday - Friday 11:00pm - 7:30am
- 2-2-3 Nights 6:30pm - 7:00am
Experience for the Forklift Operator: 6+ Months operating, Crown Stand-Up and Sit-Down Drivers Needed!
Position Responsibilities for the Forklift Operator:
- Operates and services power forklift trucks, uses hand trucks and other equipment.
- Receives and unloads trucks of incoming material. May count, weight and record.
- Verifies and records counts of incoming and outgoing material on required systems and reports discrepancies to supervision.
- Signs bills of lading on incoming material. Loads materials on trucks utilizing the OPS system.
- Follows incoming inspection procedures manual regarding specific materials to select, examine, and record condition of samples. Has knowledge of product and product specifications.
- Ensures there is a current MSDS for supplies that require same.
- Keeps warehouse and yard storage orderly and clean and uses available space to the best advantage.
- Performs daily production cycle counts as directed by supervision.
- Reports shortages of material of any kind and may be required to take inventory of material at periodic intervals as directed.
- May spot trailers to and from dock doors.
- Follows all Company policies and procedures including safety and hygiene programs and maintains a clean work area.
Minimum Requirements for the Forklift Operator:
- A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- 1+ year of forklift driving experience
- Comfortable working 12 hour days.
- Ability to stand/walk for long period of time.
- Ability to work in a hot environment.
- Ability to physically bend, twist and kneel in a safe and efficient manner.
- Basic computer skills.
- Basic math, reading and writing skills.
- Availability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Ability to come in early or stay late depending on production demands.
- Must be able to wear required PPE.
