Sr Advanced Quality Engineer (Finance)



As a Sr Advanced Quality Engineer here at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of quality in our aerospace products and services. A Senior Advanced Quality Engineer with deep expertise in AS9100, ISO9001, and FAA Part 145 standards. This hands-on compliance role is critical in maintaining and improving the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring alignment with regulatory, customer, and internal requirements.

You will report directly to our Quality Engineering Manager and you'll work out of our Olathe, KS location on a Onsite work schedule.

In this role, you will impact the future of Honeywell by championing operational excellence strategies to improve quality and delivery early in the development and transition process.

Key Responsibilities:

Audit & Compliance:

  • Plan, schedule, and execute internal audits to AS9100 and FAA Part 145 standards.
  • Support external audits including FAA, NADCAP, DCMA, and customer audits.
  • Participate in customer source inspections and regulatory assessments.

QMS Development & Documentation:
  • Create, revise, and maintain QMS documentation including Quality Manuals, SOPs, and Work Instructions.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on QMS policies, compliance practices, and procedural improvements.

Corrective & Preventive Actions:
  • Lead root cause analysis using 8D, 5 Whys, and other methodologies.
  • Drive corrective and preventive actions for internal and external nonconformances.
  • Facilitate cross-functional Corrective Action Boards and verify effectiveness of implemented solutions.

Continuous Improvement & Data Analysis:
  • Utilize data-driven decision-making and KPIs to assess and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Champion LEAN, Six Sigma, and other quality/process improvement tools.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Inspection teams to resolve product and process quality issues.
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints and ensure product conformity to specifications.

Quality Assurance Oversight:
  • Participate in the review and disposition of nonconforming materials.
  • Establish and maintain procedures for quality assurance activities related to manufactured products.

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.As a Sr Advanced Quality Engineer here at Honeywell, you will lead our quality engineering team, develop advanced quality control processes, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Your expertise will enhance supplier quality and operational excellence. You will report directly to our Quality Engineering Manager and you'll work out of our Olathe, KS location on a Onsite work schedule.YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree in Quality Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of quality experience in Aerospace, Defense, FAA, or Highly regulated environments.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently with a strong work ethic.

  • Working knowledge of FAA regulations (14 CFR Part 21 & 145) is highly preferred.
  • Experience in leading quality initiatives and projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality standards.
  • Strong documentation and procedural writing skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with QMS software, SAP is a plus.
