Maintenance Controller

Orlando, FL

Position Summary

Thales is looking for a Maintenance Operations Controller (MOC) who will manages daily aircraft maintenance planning, scheduling, and support activities for Thales IFEC system equipped aircraft globally.  Coordinates with Maintenance teams to ensure aircraft IFEC maintenance issues are resolved.

In this position, when supporting Thales IFEC system installation, modification or reactivation at an MRO, the Controller is responsible for communicating with a customer representative to ensure the quality of workmanship meets Thales standards. This role is part of a team which operates shift cycles providing 24/7/365 coverage.

Referral Bonus Eligibility: Tier 1 - $2,500

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Implement processes for controlling aircraft maintenance records and follow-on communications with the customer's maintenance departments. Implement daily communications processes with internal and external customers, to include accurate aircraft maintenance status, delays in services, and other maintenance issues.
  • Coordinate with other Thales departments when necessary to resolve IFEC system discrepancies. Review and validate technical data instructions for accuracy. Interprets and understands warranty issues and claims pertaining to workmanship and quality. Performs system operational checks and troubleshooting in support of Thales IFEC systems.
  • Ensures customer logbook discrepancies pertaining to Thales IFEC Systems are resolved in a timely manner. Will provide Thales Customers support to carry out and uphold their Company policies and procedures when not in conflict with Thales policy. Liaisons with the customer and/or their provider for all technical requirements of the Thales IFEC systems.
  • Provides concise daily written and verbal updates as to the status of the modification and issues pertaining to the inspection/installation.
  • Documents maintenance performed utilizing established procedures and submit a report to his/her Team Leader. Ability to work unsupervised to meet goals and expectations
  • Must work closely and respectfully with internal and external customer. Plans and carries out work assignments and address issues in accordance with Thales RSQM/GMM and Thales policy and procedures as well as applicable Customer instructions, policies, training, or accepted practices in the occupation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma equivalent required. Valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe Certificate or equivalent required or in the process of acquiring certificates with proof within 18 months. Five (5) or more years of aviation maintenance industry experience or at least two (2) years of Thales IFEC experience.
  • Ability to interpret and comprehend structural and electrical drawings. Boeing 737 and 757 series A/C, Embraer “E” series A/C and Airbus A320 family knowledge preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
  • Knowledge of Part 21, 121 and 145 Federal Aviation Regulations. Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Strong analytical abilities and negotiation skills.
  • Solid interpersonal skills with a results-oriented focus. Ability to work in a team environment; guide and attend to the needs of the support team. The ability to work with and in close proximity of fellow team members. Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US. Must pass a 7-year background check and drug test, and be able to obtain an airport security badge. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a record that meets Thales eligibility insurance standards. Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Passport. Must be willing and able to travel on a regular basis both domestically and internationally without impedance.

Special Position Requirements

  • Schedule: Core work hours are 12hr shifts with 4/3à3/4 schedule with rotating shifts (dayshift and night shift) every 8-10 weeks.
  • Travel: Occasionally for training purposes at different MX sites

The reference Total Target Compensation(TTC) market range for this position, inclusive of annual base salary and the variable compensation target, is between

Total Target Cash (TTC): 62,502.50 - 82,956.00 - 104,253.50 USD Annual

This reflects how companies in a similar industry and geographic region generally pay for similar jobs. This range helps the Company make pay decisions as one data point among many. Where a position falls within this range is also dependent on other factors including – but not limited to – the employee's career path history, competencies, skills and performance, as well as the company's annual salary budget, the customer's program requirements, and the company's internal equity. Thales may offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's status protected by local, state, or federal law.
