Laboratory technician position within the Materials & Processes Engineering (MPE) Advanced Materials Group conducting special technologies materials development with a focus on high temperature exhaust system coatings for state-of-the-art jet engine applications. The preferred candidate will work closely with engineering customers to execute test programs from initial proof of concept thru production implementation. Candidate must possess an affinity for working with and troubleshooting laboratory equipment, with associated responsibilities spanning setup / operation of standard thermal and paint spray equipment, specimen fabrication and machining, mechanical testing, chemical processing, basic programming, and detailed documentation of experimental data.
Key functions also include generation of innovative process / equipment solutions to meet critical program needs, and effective daily planning to achieve milestones as agreed upon with engineering customer. The preferred candidate will possess exemplary communication and interpersonal skills, and will work as part of a cohesive and dedicated team of engineers and technicians responsible for the development of the referenced materials.
