Senior Accountant (Finance)



Job Description

Imperative Chemical Partners has an immediate opening for a Senior Accountant in the Hempstead, TX / Houston, TX area. If you are interested in joining a growing company with a proven track record of success, this is your opportunity.

SUMMARY

The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing daily general ledger activities, supporting the month-end close process, and ensuring accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP. This role will work closely with the general ledger accounting team and play a key part in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment. The Senior Accountant will also contribute to process improvements and system optimization efforts, particularly within NetSuite ERP.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform and manage general ledger accounting functions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close activities.
  • Maintain GAAP compliance and ensure accurate GL coding.
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Handle bank reconciliations and monthly accruals.
  • Maintain AFE (Authorization for Expenditure) and fixed asset records.
  • Support external audits and tax preparation processes.
  • Monitor and resolve FIFO inventory variances.
  • Prepare monthly post-close reports and analysis.
  • Participate in and lead special projects as needed.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • CPA license or Master's degree in Accounting or related field, preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of accounting experience (manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, inventory, and cost accounting.
  • High proficiency in Excel and NetSuite ERP.
  • Experience supporting audits and tax activities.
  • Experience with NetSuite ERP implementation or system upgrades, preferred.
  • Exposure to compliance audits in a manufacturing setting, preferred.
