Representative, Inside Sales (Sales)



The Inside Sales Representative – Prepaint Division plays a critical role in managing customer accounts, processing orders, and supporting business development for Samuel's prepainted steel and aluminum products. This individual works closely with customers, outside sales, operations, and supply chain teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment, while maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction and product knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day customer communication, including quote generation, order entry, order tracking, and issue resolution for prepainted products.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers through exceptional service and responsiveness.
  • Accurately enter and manage customer orders in the ERP system; coordinate with operations to meet delivery and production timelines.
  • Monitor inventory levels, lead times, and mill capabilities to align with customer needs and production schedules.
  • Collaborate with Outside Sales Representatives and Sales Manager to identify growth opportunities and support strategic account planning.
  • Communicate effectively with production, purchasing, and logistics teams to ensure on-time delivery and product quality.
  • Manage customer complaints, credits, and returns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Understand and communicate the technical specifications and applications of prepainted materials to customers.
  • Track and analyze customer purchasing patterns and market trends to identify potential upselling or cross-selling opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; post-secondary education in Business, Sales, or a related field is a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience in an inside sales or customer-facing role; experience in metals or prepainted coil products is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of coil coating and prepainted material applications is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); ERP experience (such as SAP or AS400) is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and problem-solving abilities.
