Vendor Relations Intern - Summer 2026 (Project Management)

Covering a variety of business areas and needs, our internships are available to rising seniors in undergraduate programs. Engineered for personal and professional development, our summer program runs for ten weeks from early June through mid-August.

The Vendor Relations Intern will work directly with Vendor Relations Managers and Associates in managing multiple projects associated with procuring National Brands product to fulfill its business model and meet the needs of the customer. Medline's Kitting Sourcing Department has opportunities, which can expose you to National Brands Vendor Management, Global Sourcing, Indirect Spend Management, and Product Category Management. In this role, you can expect to learn about cost management and supplier relationship management (SRM).

Job Description

Possible projects could include:

  • Assist in supporting VRM's in the management of National Brand suppliers, leveraging product knowledge to ensure Medline has the correct product assortment from the correct sources which will mainly involve domestic suppliers.

  • Work with VRM's through Vendor/Sku Rationalization, converting single sterile to bulk non-sterile options, identifying options to move business direct to manufacturer's and continue to develop Platinum program opportunities.

  • Communicate with suppliers to procure alternate products and engage in price negotiations.

  • Align product details for sales conversion and identify long term product shortages for sourcing solutions.

  • Special projects may also include RFP analysis, financial pipeline management and marketing activities.

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in a Business related major with analytical focus preferred (Supply Chain, Analytics, Finance).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Essential skills in Excel include using SUM function, setting borders, adjusting column width, inserting charts, text wrap, sorting data, and configuring headers, footers, and print scaling.

  • Junior standing with a 3.0 minimum GPA preferred.

  • Proficient in written and verbal communication.

  • Detail oriented with strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Motivated self-starter.

  • Strong business acumen.

  • Unrestricted permanent US work authorization.

The anticipated salary range for this position:

$23.25 - $32.50 Hourly

The actual salary will vary based on applicant's location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
