Summary of Responsibilities

Job Summary:

The Director of Quality is a strategic leadership role responsible for enhancing customer satisfaction and operational excellence within our corporate quality organization. The successful candidate will lead initiatives in root cause analysis, corrective actions, and process improvements to ensure high-quality standards are met and exceeded. This position emphasizes strengthening customer relations through effective quality management, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a culture of quality across the organization.

Responsibilities and Tasks (listed in bullet format) in order of priority to be successful

  • Lead and oversee root cause analysis and corrective action processes to address customer complaints, quality issues, and operational challenges.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, implement, and monitor process improvement initiatives that enhance product and service quality.
  • Drive continuous improvement methodology (such as Six Sigma, Lean, or similar tools) within the quality organization.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships by resolving quality concerns effectively and proactively.
  • Develop and maintain quality metrics, dashboards, and reporting systems to track performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Facilitate training and development programs to promote quality awareness and best practices across teams.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Partner with Supply Chain, Operations, and Product Development teams to integrate quality into all stages of product lifecycle.
  • Manage and lead a team of quality professionals, providing coaching, guidance, and performance evaluations.
  • Travel as needed to customer sites, suppliers, or company facilities to support quality initiatives and audits.

Education, Experience & License or Certification

  • Master degree is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience (8+ years) in quality management, with leadership responsibility within a manufacturing or corporate environment.
  • Strong expertise in root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and process improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with experience working directly with customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and foster teamwork.
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100, or similar.
  • Ability to travel as needed (domestic and international).
  • Preferred Skills:
    • Certifications such as ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CQE), Six Sigma Green/Black Belt.
    • Experience with digital quality management systems.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Passionate about customer satisfaction and organizational excellence.

  • Familiar with CMMI Model requirements.
