The Kimberly-Clark Procurement organization is driving a transformation agenda towards a more strategic and global approach, enabling simplification and standardization of categories and processes with a collaborative mindset.

This role has category management responsibilities for Kimberly-Clark's purchases in the MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operation) equipment category, with global spend of $300 - $400 million and will report directly to the Global Procurement Director, Machinery & Equipment.

The global category manager, MRO:

  • Sets global strategy
  • Guides regional teams, understanding Segment/plant needs and certifying deployment of global category strategy
  • Ensures that K-C is leveraging its global volumes and learnings
  • Charged with supplier relationship management, building partnership with strategic suppliers in the category
  • Establishes strong connections with stakeholders, engaging them in the procurement processes and decisions

  • You are driven to understand global MRO equipment categories, leveraging global scale and bringing competitiveness to each of K-C's operating segments
  • You are a skilled negotiator who can successfully drive value in a category by developing a strategy that puts Kimberly-Clark in a favorable position
  • You are willing to push the strategy beyond the status quo and are recommending and taking calculated risks. You are able to diagnose and solve complex issues and opportunities within business sourcing models across a diverse environment
  • You work effectively with regional buyers, guiding and ensuring the deployment of category strategies
  • You have the demonstrated ability to understand strategic business needs, communication and relationship building skills at different organization levels, willingness to be a team player, are available to travel internationally and work collaboratively across cultures

Responsibilities;

Setting Category Strategy

  • Develops global strategy, ensuring alignment with business needs, engaging with key stakeholders and certifying the deployment by regional teams
  • Supports programs and initiatives to reduce complexity and promote standardization of categories and processes
  • Understands market movement and industry benchmarks / best practices
  • Develops supplier partnership, which will bring business opportunities and innovation to K-C

Leadership / People Development

  • Leads category strategy agenda globally, influencing and guiding regional teams
  • Connects with stakeholders and keeps them engaged
  • Ability to work and influence at various levels across K-C organization
  • Experience in change management

Global Alignment

  • Develops Global Category Strategy, incorporating regional inputs and business needs
  • Engages category stakeholders as needed to understand demand
  • Promotes best practices sharing across regions
  • Provides visibility of global risk and opportunities

Knowledge Development

  • Understanding of market movement and industry benchmarks / best practices
  • Strong negotiation capabilities
  • Ability to work with complex categories and with multiple, geographically dispersed stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering or related discipline required; Advanced degree preferred
  • 10 plus years of experience including plant manufacturing and/or staff leadership; equipment category management preferred 
  • Experience working in a complex global / diverse environment
  • Skilled negotiator/results oriented
  • Understanding of market movement
  • Ability to work across geographic regions
  • Ability to reconcile diverse business strategies and challenges
  • Extensive experience in stakeholder management
  • Self-motivated and assertive with internal and external contacts
  • Strong analytic skills
  • Ability to lead though influence

The anticipated base pay range for this job has a range of $135,000 to $175,000.

Along with base pay, this position offers eligibility for a target bonus and a comprehensive benefits suite, including our 401(k) and Profit Sharing plan. The anticipated base pay range for this role is provided above for a fully qualified hire. Actual pay will depend on several factors, such as location, role, skills, performance, and experience. Please note that the stated pay range applies to US locations only.

Salary Range: 127,600 – 157,600 USD
