RN-Care Team Leader-Cardiology-IMC and General Care Unit (Finance)

Work Schedule:

90% FTE, evening/night. Weekend and holiday rotation required. Hours are based off the operational needs of the department. We offer a competitive starting pay, relevant work experience will be considered, this position also includes a shift/weekend differential. You will work at University Hospital in Madison, WI.

Pay:

  • Additional components of compensation may include:
  • Shift Differentials: $4/hour evening and $5/hour night as applicable for hours worked.
  • Weekend Differential: $4.25/hour as applicable for hours worked.
  • Overtime
  • On-call pay
  • Relocation assistance may be available for qualified applicants.

We are seeking a Care Team Leader (CTL) / Charge Nurse:

  • The opportunity to motivate and lead nursing staff while working in collaboration with the interprofessional team on this acuity adaptable unit.
  • Mentor others to grow professionally and advance their knowledge and skills.
  • Direct and lead nursing staff to ensure optimum patient care, efficient operations, quality service and sound financial management.
  • Analyze and resolve problems that fall outside the domain of the nurse clinician and collaborate with other departments and care providers.
  • Work in an environment that is patient and family focused including daily care team visits with the entire team but most important the patient as an active participant. There is a strong emphasis on patient and family education in this unit.
  • Join a fast-paced cardiac/telemetry unit caring for the cardiology patient population at a level 1 trauma center, as well as the opportunity to work with new technology and state of the art equipment!
    • Work on a unit with both general and intermediate level patients. This cardiac/telemetry unit has a total of 23 beds with central monitors for telemetry located throughout the unit.
    • Care for cardiology patients that may require diagnostic testing and state-of-the-art, non-surgical interventions for coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure and dysrhythmia treatment. The team also partners with the cardiac cath lab team to care for cardiac cath lab procedure patients prior to or after their procedure. This unit may also partner with the advanced heart failure service to provide medical management of pre-transplant patients.

Qualifications

  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing Preferred

Work Experience

  • 2 years experience in an inpatient unit Required
  • 2 years of combined work experience and leadership experience may be considered in lieu of two (2) years' experience in an inpatient unit Required
  • 3 years experience in an acute care inpatient unit Preferred
  • Relevant RN experience with department-specific patient population Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact Required
  • Current CPR/BLS certification Required
  • Cardiology- ACLS within 180 Days Required
  • National certification in relevant specialty Preferred
