The Office of Student Leadership and Involvement (SLI) is hiring two Student Supervisors to assist in overseeing daily operations, supporting department initiatives, and providing leadership during assigned shifts. This role offers advanced student employees the opportunity to take on greater responsibility while continuing to serve peers and the UHD community. Supervisors will help maintain an engaging and inclusive student lounge environment while supporting special projects, events, and office functions.

Duties:

• Supervises Student Assistants and serves as the first point of contact for all student lounge issues during your shift
• Carries out daily student assistant duties, including lounge monitoring, clerical work, and student support
• Enforces lounge policies and help maintain a clean, inclusive, and welcoming environment
• Assists with departmental initiatives such as:
  • Council of Finance process support
  • Inventory tracking and supply management
  • Event planning and coordination
• Represents SLI on student staff committees and, when available, serve as student lead during event setup and execution
• Supports locker rentals, equipment reservations, and administrative functions
• Coordinates with professional staff to ensure coverage, task completion, and accurate reporting
• Assists with shift opening and closing procedures, following all UHD emergency protocols
• Participates in student evaluations by providing peer-based feedback and insight
• Performs other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Must be available to work 15-20 hours per week
  • Preferred availability:
    • Morning Supervisor: 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM
    • Afternoon Supervisor: 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM
      (Schedules will remain flexible based on class availability.)
• Ability to work independently and manage peer interactions with professionalism
• Strong communication, time management, and multitasking skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office; comfort learning new systems and tools
• Ability to serve as a peer role model and uphold the values of SLI
• Participation in student staff meetings and development sessions is required

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be a currently enrolled UHD student
• Must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
• Leadership experience is highly preferred, though not required
