ROLE SUMMARY:

The Third-Party Management (TPM) Senior Advisor is a specialized strategic role that helps maximize supplier performance while minimizing risk to Cigna and our customers.

The TPM Senior Advisor works closely with the Cigna Healthcare US business team, peers in the Global Procurement, Third-Party Management, and Shared Services (GPTPMS) organization and selected critical suppliers to ensure performance is in accordance with contractual commitments and ongoing service delivery is of the highest quality.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Enhance partnership between Global Procurement, Third-Party Management, and Shared Services (GPTPMS) with key business units focusing on the delivery of company strategies, minimizing business risk and reducing overall costs for the products and services provided to the market.
  • Execute Cigna's TPM program of best practices, processes and methods for suppliers under management.
  • Maintain and promote professional, sound business relationships with selected suppliers, Cigna Healthcare US business leaders and stakeholders, and the overall GPTPMS team.
  • Work with a select group of global suppliers to understand risk elements - e.g. geo-political and macroeconomic changes, which may impact their delivery centers and the Cigna Healthcare US business.
  • Partner with business leaders and GPTPMS colleagues to identify and execute optimal sourcing strategies and efficient use of supplier resources.
  • Collaborate with the business team to establish and execute a robust governance model for effective management of select supplier relationships.
  • Track aggregate supplier performance against measures and guidelines and report on performance in a monthly, quarterly or annual manner.
  • Develop and execute periodic business reviews with Cigna Healthcare US stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Collaborate with the stakeholders to execute Corrective Action Plans, as required.
  • Monitor and review supplier invoices for accuracy and adherence to the terms and conditions of the contract.
  • Assist in driving total cost of ownership reductions and operational improvement efforts.
  • Facilitate the constructive handling or resolution of conflict both internally and externally with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Communicate with and convene other Cigna matrix partners as needed.
  • Establish a partnering culture between business stakeholders and GPTPMS to ensure value is derived equitably to drive innovation and productivity.
  • Support continuous improvement using the Cigna GPTPMS framework.
  • Lead and direct the proactive management and understanding of industry best practices, assist benchmarking efforts and provide insight to the business stakeholders.
  • Advise and mentor others on GPTPMS best practices, inside and outside of the department where required.
  • Serve as the trusted advisor and single point of contact for leaders on supplier/procurement related needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent preferred; Graduate would be a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in Supplier Management, Strategic Sourcing, or related fields strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in drafting, revising, and reviewing contracts, Service Level Agreements, Master Service Agreements and Statements of Work
  • Demonstrated experience in Risk Management.
  • Proven experience in measuring and improving supplier operational performance.
  • Able to define and establish new, efficient processes with appropriate controls.
  • Strong leadership skills; inspires confidence and respect with associates and suppliers.
  • Strong decision making/problem solving skills; can identify issues, recommend and implement solutions.
  • Strong organizational, consultative and collaboration skills - builds relationships and can effectively influence both internal and external business partners.
  • Demonstrates negotiation and supplier management skills with proven success; able to negotiate directly with internal and external partners.
  • Influences vendor behavior without negatively impacting client service.
  • Very strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effectively presents/facilitates with peers and executive level audiences.
  • Competence with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Familiarity with Ariba S2C & P2P and Process Unity will be an advantage.
