The Preventative Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing scheduled maintenance tasks, identifying potential issues before they lead to breakdowns, and contributing to a safe and efficient operational environment. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining equipment in excellent working order.
Schedule: 4-10 (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday) Hours: 4am - 230pm Role and Responsibilities Safety: · Ensure work areas are safe from hazards, participate in safety discussions, weekly safety talks, and follow safety practices and policies. · Helps promote a safe workplace through observation, action and participation. Actively communicates with peers to promote a safe work environment. · Operates tools, machinery and other equipment in accordance with OSHA/Cal OSHA requirements. · Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including lockout/tagout, when performing maintenance tasks to ensure personal safety and the safety of others. Perform Scheduled Maintenance · Execute preventative maintenance tasks according to established schedules and procedures on a variety of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. · This includes lubrication, inspection, adjustment, cleaning, and replacement of components. Conduct Inspections and Diagnostics: · Regularly inspect equipment for signs of wear, damage, or malfunction. · Utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to identify potential problems and recommend corrective actions. Document Maintenance Activities · Accurately and thoroughly document all maintenance tasks performed, including findings, repairs, and parts used, in the maintenance management system. Identify and Report Potential Issues · Proactively identify and report any potential mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic issues that could lead to equipment failure or safety hazards. Assist with Repairs and Troubleshooting · Collaborate with other maintenance personnel to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and assist in performing necessary repairs. Maintain Tools and Equipment · Ensure that all assigned tools and equipment are properly maintained, calibrated, and in safe working condition. Maintain Cleanliness · Keep work areas clean and organized. Stay Updated on Technical Knowledge · Continuously update knowledge of equipment, maintenance techniques, and industry best practices through training and self-study. Collaborate with Operations · Communicate effectively with operations personnel regarding equipment status and maintenance schedules to minimize downtime. Contribute to Continuous Improvement · Participate in efforts to improve maintenance procedures and optimize equipment reliability. Other Duties · Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager.
