Manufacturing Production Supervisor (Finance)



Position Summary

The Manufacturing Production Supervisor provides leadership and direction for daily production operations in a defense manufacturing environment. This role ensures that products are manufactured to meet rigorous quality, safety, and security standards while complying with government regulations, defense contracts, and customer requirements. The supervisor coordinates resources, drives process efficiency, and fosters a culture of accountability, precision, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead, supervise, and coordinate the work of production employees to meet delivery schedules and quality specifications for defense products.
• Ensure compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) requirements, ITAR, ISO, and other applicable regulations.
• Oversee security protocols for controlled work areas and sensitive materials.
• Monitor production processes, resource allocation, and workflow, adjusting as needed to maintain efficiency and adherence to project timelines.
• Collaborate with quality assurance, engineering, and program management to resolve technical and quality issues quickly.
• Conduct training, coaching, and performance reviews to maintain a skilled, cross-trained workforce.
• Enforce safety standards and promote a zero-injury culture, ensuring compliance with OSHA and internal EHS policies.
• Maintain accurate production documentation and traceability records in accordance with contract and regulatory requirements.
• Partner with supply chain and logistics to ensure materials and components are available when needed.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, 5S) to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and meet evolving defense contract needs.

Qualifications
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, engineering, industrial technology, or related field preferred; equivalent defense manufacturing experience considered.
• 3+ years in a manufacturing leadership role, preferably in a defense, aerospace, or other regulated industry.
• Familiarity with DoD contracts, ITAR compliance, and secure manufacturing processes.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Knowledge of production scheduling, quality systems, and precision manufacturing processes.
• Proficient in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• 5+ years of experience in machining, including CNC machines (lathe, mill, etc.) preferred.
• Strong understanding of G-code programming and machining tolerances preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints preferred.
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methods preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance, if required.

Working Conditions
• Manufacturing environment with controlled access areas.
• Exposure to machinery, moderate noise, and varying temperatures.
