GNSI Communications & Marketing Student Asst. - Grad (Finance)



The Global and National Security Institute (GNSI) is seeking a motivated and dependable Graduate Assistant to support communications and marketing efforts as part of GNSI's mission.

Please note this position is NOT eligible for a tuition waiver.Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be a current USF Graduate student.
  • Some experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook and Teams
  • Some copywriting or journalism experience
  • Familiar with video and audio equipment use and setup
  • Must have effective communication skills, be able to multitask, be self-motivated, able to follow directions, be dependable and eager to learn and willing to rotate assignment area on short notice.

This is not a coding, research or computer analytical position. You will be working with the GNSI team in the following ways (this list is not all-inclusive):
  • Assist in the writing, editing, creation and posting of social media posts for LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube and other digital platforms
  • Assist in the creation of content for GNSI website, including graphics, videos, and news stories
  • Assist in the graphic design of GNSI marketing materials, including flyers, research articles, Decision Briefs, Conference Reports, event programs, presentations, and others, as needed
  • May assist in the creation of videos, including conceptualization, writing scripts, preparing sets, setting up equipment and lighting (potentially shooting and editing the video for use on GNSI website and social media).
