Parts & Service Support Technician (Administrative)



Summary

The Parts & Service Support Technician is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the warehouse. This individual will coordinate with technicians to confirm that the appropriate products are on site.  This person will be willing to work directly with generator technicians on job sites as an assistant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review all future work orders and procure necessary parts and supplies
  • Conduct detailed inventory  and stock management of all parts and supplies on a daily basis
  • Research best pricing from multiple suppliers
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse
  • Pick up parts from supply houses and distribute parts to work sites if needed.
  • Other tasks as requested
  • Effectively manage parts inventory, including stock levels, proper warehouse management/storage, and physical inventory counts
  • Ensure parts returns are performed in compliance with vendor policies and procedures
  • Responsible for procuring, quoting, ordering, & tracking parts and equipment
  • Anticipate and understand customer's current and future expectations, provide innovative solutions
  • Conduct parts sales efficiently, productively, and profitably
  • Actively and effectively communicate with all Power Systems team members

Work Environment

This job operates in a warehouse environment and driving in company vehicle.

Required Education and Experience

  • Be a personable, highly motivated, and ethical problem solver who can adapt to all forces around – customers, suppliers, manufacturers, and co-workers
  • Exceptional customer service
  • 2 – Years experience in parts and service required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Inventory management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, and Excel)

Essential Functions / Responsibilities:

  • Organizing merchandise and loading and unloading shipments.
  • Perform Basic Preventive Maintenance on Trucks, Trailers, Equipment, and Grounds.
  • Responsible for cleaning, organizing and maintaining the warehouse.
  • Inventory all tools and equipment supplied to employee and crews
  • Perform all job tasks to manufacturers standards
  • Perform all work safely and efficiently/always utilize correct PPE
  • Basic knot tying and safe rigging principles required to load material on trailers

Required Knowledge / Competencies:

  • Must have valid Drivers License and the ability to obtain a DOT physical certification. CDL Class A certification a plus
  • Must be able to pass a background check/MVR/drug screen for government security clearances
  • Must be competent in safely driving tuck with trailers
  • Must have complete knowledge on use and care of basic hand and power tools

Job Related Certifications:

  • Certified in fork-lift and skid steer operations preferred

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

The physical demands and work environment described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively
  • Work in adverse weather conditions
  • Must be at least 21 years old, have a valid drivers license
  • Able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background, drug testing and MVR
