Senior Electrical Technician (Project Management)
Job Summary:
The Senior Electrical Technician at Sun Test Systems, Inc. is responsible for interpreting electrical schematics, assembling and installing electrical systems, and performing system testing and troubleshooting. This hands-on role supports the full life cycle of electrical builds, from component layout to final testing, while ensuring quality and safety standards are met. The technician works collaboratively across departments, maintains accurate documentation, and supports a respectful, team-oriented work environment. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a dynamic manufacturing setting.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Reads and interprets electrical and electronic schematics and blueprints and hand sketches.Locates components in the electrical systems and determines method and routing of electrical wires and or harnesses.Selects conduit and wire size based on current and wire bundle size.Uses hand and power tools and machine equipment as directed. i.e., conduit bender and threading machine, etc.Performs testing of completed units, components and assemblies.Troubleshoots electrical components and electrical systems.Maintains all documents and paperwork pertaining to the job.Guides and directs lower-level electrician work effort when necessary.Works effectively with co-workers, customers and others by sharing ideas in a constructive and positive manner; listening to and objectively considering ideas and suggestions from others; keeping commitments; keeping others informed of work progress, timetables and issues; addressing problems and issues constructively to find mutually acceptable and practical business solutions; addressing others by name, title or other respectful identifier, and; respecting the diversity of our work force in actions, words and deeds.Other duties may be assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Must be a U.S. citizen or have the legal ability to live and work in the US and meet any other federal program requirements.Able to physically move equipment up to 50lbs.Proficiency in MS Project. A general/working knowledge of MS Office products is required.Experience in manufacturing.Proficiency in basic mathematical functions.Good written and verbal communication skills.Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
Required Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED Required.2-4 years of related experience.
