Sr Software Engineer - Transportation Systems (Information Technology)

Join the Publix Transportation Systems Development Team “Where Development is a Pleasure.” Our team is growing, and we are looking for a talented software engineer to add to our winning culture and track record of delivering exceptional solutions to our users. In this role, you'll be a key player in collaborating with enterprise teams to assess requirements, design innovative solutions, and develop cutting-edge systems. The ideal candidate will have exceptional analytical, planning, development, and problem-solving skills, and will excel at communicating effectively with management, peers, technology vendors, and business customers.
 
Job Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop enterprise-grade technology solutions with a focus on performance, interdependencies, stability, scalability, and usability.
  • Utilize modern development methodologies with a cloud-first approach, incorporating CI/CD pipelines.
  • Mentor developers on best practices.
  • Lead and participate in design and development meetings using Agile and traditional methodologies.
  • Create comprehensive technical documentation.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for applications.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for production support.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related analytical field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience with .NET, C#, .NET Worker Services, ASP.NET Core, and background service patterns.
  • 5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and consuming RESTful APIs using ASP.NET Core and proficient in utilizing API documentation tools such as Swagger/OpenAPI.
  • 5+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Entity Framework Core with expertise in designing normalized schemas, writing complex queries, and optimizing database performance.
  • Experience with building responsive web applications using ASP.NET Core (MVC, Razor Pages) and modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Blazor.
  • Adept at deploying and managing applications on Microsoft Azure, including App Services, Azure SQL, and Azure Functions.
  • Proficient in Git with experience in branching, merging, and pull request workflows.
  • Experience with designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
  • Experienced in working within Agile/Scrum teams.
  • Experience in authoring and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
  • Proficient in designing, provisioning, and managing cloud infrastructure, preferably on Microsoft Azure, utilizing Terraform modules and best practices.
  • Knowledgeable in automated testing, build, and deployment strategies for .NET and containerized applications.
  • Experience with Azure and GCP cloud platforms.
  • Skilled in supporting data and process governance of distribution system compliance in accordance with company policies, standards, and SOX requirements.
