Principal, Product Claims Assurance (LCA) (Administrative)

ERM CVS is a growing, global organization, seeking a motivated and commercially focused Principal in North America who is interested in expanding our product claims assurance services, enabling us to support more clients in their journey to increase the trust in the positive impact of their products. By engaging with multinational organizations across a wide range of sectors to develop new partnerships, enhancing our product claim assurance services, and delivering third-party assurance engagements, the manager will enable the continued growth of our client portfolio and lead our business relationships with the product claims and corporate assurance area.

Working directly with Partners and independently, you will generate additional opportunities by networking internally and externally, engage with clients interested in increasing the trust in their product claims and meeting their customer requirements, and work with our teams to increase their competence and knowledge in the technical aspects of product claim assurance.

The successful candidate will have high level of autonomy, effective communication skills, results-focused, confident, willing to learn, and will bring expertise in both sustainability and product claims. We are looking for over 10 years of experience in assurance/ audit or product sustainability and subject matter expertise in Life Cycle Analysis (LCA). The selected candidate will drive product claim assurance related sales and delivery both independently and with our diverse team of senior sellers and Partners in NA and globally.    

Responsibilities:

  • Grow our portfolio of product claim services: Expand our current portfolio of product assurance offerings through marketing and sales functions paired with adding new accreditations, schemes, or offerings with Partner support.
  • Represent the Product Claim assurance function on sales engagements: Initiate and support sales with Partners in the product claim function and global ERM network at the direction of Partners, supporting proposal development and representing the function during client pitches. Collaborate with senior sellers to set themes, strategies, outlines, budgets, and work schedules for complex requests for proposal.
  • Manage client engagements: Third-party assurance engagements and ESG-focused assurance readiness engagements supporting our client's to evaluate the reliability and transparency of their product claims.
  • Enhancing product claim assurance capabilities: Develop training and delivery protocols and coach junior team members and serve our thought leader for this space.

Requirements:

  • 15+ years' experience in commercial-facing and/or technical role with strong degree of business acumen
  • Extensive market knowledge of the drivers of sustainable products and environmental claims
  • Detailed understanding of relevant ISO standards, other methodologies relating to LCA, carbon foot printing, EPDs (environmental product declaration), PCRs (product category rules)
  • Significant experience working with LCA software
  • Experience conducting LCA or carbon-related studies and products
  • LCA peer review experience
  • Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited college or university or demonstrated equivalent.
  • Experience managing and working collaboratively on teams to develop and deliver innovative and practical solutions grounded on technical knowledge.
  • Be a team player with a high degree of self-motivation and assertiveness.
  • Demonstrable experience supporting business development through involvement in sales (preparing proposals, pitches to clients, etc.) and marketing (new services).
  • Experience with Salesforce or equivalent CRM database preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication and time management skills.
  • Willingness to travel for visits to client head offices and operational sites.
