Accounts Receivable Analyst, North American Finance Group (Finance)



Job Objectives:

Reporting to the AVP Accounts Receivable Group, the Accounts Receivable Analyst will be part of a team responsible for the collection of direct premiums.

Duties and Responsibilities:

To fulfill these objectives, the Accounts Receivable Analyst will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • The collection of direct premiums from brokers and maintaining receivables on a current basis across our various underwriting systems.

  • Follow up on past-due payments.

  • Maintain and update as needed client billing information.

  • Identify collection issues and assist in appropriate resolution.

  • Reconcile daily cash applications.

  • Reconcile and resolve differences in broker accounts.

  • Research and resolve unapplied cash items.

  • Process cancellations for non-payment of premiums.

  • Process cash in the Accounts Receivable application.

  • Special projects as needed.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and skills:

·         Education: Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.

·         Experience: Two plus years of direct collections experience is preferred.

·         Technical Skills: Strong MS Excel and analytical skills, including the ability to use functions such as VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and formulas to analyze high volume transactional data.

·         Ability to Work Independently: The candidate should have the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.

·         Communication Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills are essential, as the Accounts Receivable Analyst will be interacting with internal stakeholders and external vendors.

·         Industry Experience: Experience in the insurance industry is a plus, as it will provide a better understanding of the specific requirements and processes involved in the collection of direct premiums.
