Associate Portfolio Advisor (Finance)

This is an office-based position and for the effective performance of this role, the duties and responsibilities must be carried out onsite.

The Associate Portfolio Advisor w orks with ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families to communicate investment strategies, build investment portfolios and educate the next generation on ways to preserve and build wealth. Supports senior investment advisor to consistently deliver a high level of proactive client service and support. Role requires a meticulous, inquisitive professional with a strong foundation in investments, knowledge of broad array of investment solutions, desire to utilize a goals driven investment process, and ability to coordinate and collaborate with the broader client service team. Monitors and takes ownership of risk and compliance requirements by consulting with investment advisor on deficiencies, communicating with clients to eliminate exceptions and w orking diligently to mitigate losses due to error.

• Supports invest advisor in managing sophisticated, more complex ultra-high net worth individuals and families. Manages investment activities including portfolio implementation, manager selection, rebalancing, and trade execution.

• Participates in client meetings by providing economic and market commentary, presenting investment research and communicating changes to portfolio tactics given current economic climate and market environment.

• Prepares investment plans and coordinates portfolio analytics, asset allocation analysis, and presentation materials for clients and prospects. Assists in development of recommendations based on strategic and tactical asset allocation considerations.

• Manages and monitors external managers and alternative investments including private equity, real estate and hedge funds. Supports investment advisor in presenting and updating existing clients on these investment solutions.

• Works closely with client service team to understand overall wealth strategy and to proactively identify and execute on areas of opportunity .

• Consistently demonstrates increasing proficiency with new investment strategies, tools and capabilities, and portfolio research and investment methodologies through regular contact and engagement with peers, internal and external asset managers and our national investment and goals driven wealth management practices.

• Develops an influential presence with our regional client teams as well as our clients, their trustees and their advisors to ensure prompt and accurate communications and coordinate portfolio activity.

• Adheres to best practices and national investment guidelines as measured by the PM Dashboard and related reporting. Observe sound risk management practices.

The successful candidate will benefit from having the following competencies:

• Broad understanding of financial markets and knowledge of investment and portfolio management theory, accounting and financial principles, associated investment strategies and instruments usually acquired through undergraduate degree in business, finance, economics or equivalent and 3-5 years of investment experience working in the financial services industry.

• A passion for the investment business and excellent communication skills. Preference toward candidates pursuing an advanced degree, CFA, CFP or other professional designation.

• Analytical and interpretive skills to understand client needs.

• Teamwork and organizational skills combined with an attention to detail to meet deadlines and to overcome roadblocks and solve problems.

• Advanced Excel skills and strong knowledge of PowerPoint and Word.
