Staff/Project Plumbing and HVAC Engineer (Finance)

Role description:
Arcadis is seeking a Staff or Project Mechanical Engineer to support the design and engineering team within the Resilience global business area. Primary focuses include, plumbing and fire protection design with backup needs to support HVAC design services. We are committed to supporting work flexibility in the way of location and work schedules. This can accommodate a flexible work schedule with a hybrid arrangement with the base location being within the NY/NJ/CT Tri-State area.
As a Staff or Project Mechanical Engineer, you will work with project teams, other junior and senior engineers, project managers, and clients designing plumbing and fire protection, and HVAC systems on various projects. Specifically, we are seeking experience with design of these specialty project types: water/wastewater, municipal market, industrial market, large manufacturing facilities, and/or life sciences facilities. You will be responsible for supporting design efforts and assisting the senior engineer.
Role accountabilities:
As a Staff/Project Mechancial Engineer, you will work on HVAC, plumbing and fire protection design for municipal and industrial water / wastewater facilities.
Be part of design teams to develop construction-ready drawing packages with inter-discipline coordination.
Design for available capacity, redundancy, reliability, efficiency, and safety, as well as constructability and cost.
Coordinate execution of projects with other disciplines and/or the senior engineer.
Work independently and with a team.
Develop strong industry relationships with other design professionals.
Travel to project sites for engineering site surveys, data collection for system studies, system audits and collaboration with clients' team members.
Have knowledge of industry standards, building codes, and safety standards such as ASHRAE, ASME, SMACNA, IECC, ANSI, UFC, UBC as well as international standards such as IEC, CE, EN.
Have familiarity with design and modeling of HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems using software (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM360, Trane Trace).
Develop analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Have some experience developing solutions to complex projects.
Have familiarity with various system studies (thermal comfort, indoor air quality, humidity control, energy management).
Support proposal efforts to win design work.
Receive mentoring from senior staff.
Have some experience with HVAC calculations using excel and Carrier HAP
Have some experience with domestic hot and cold water stormwater, natural gas and sanitary systems calculations including sump pump and ejector calculations.
Have some experience with fire protection hydraulic calculations using HASS software and provide fire pump design and calculations when required.

We offer nine paid holidays and 15-20 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $96,000 - $135,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
