Customer Project Technical Engineer (Finance)



We are excited to announce a fantastic opportunity for a Customer Project Technical Engineer

at our Huntington, IN plant. You'll design custom Low Voltage Transformers, lead cost and safety improvement initiatives, and support new product development. Key responsibilities include managing BOM and drawing updates, maintaining PFMEAs, ensuring compliance with SPS, ISO, and UL standards, building prototypes, and resolving technical issues to enhance product performance and reliability.

What will you do?

  • Designing custom Low Voltage Transformers to meet the specifications of incoming Field Orders.
  • Leading Quality Value Engineering (QVE) projects to enhance cost-efficiency, material/labor productivity, and safety for both production teams and end users.
  • Coordinating Bill of Materials (BOM) and drawing changes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintaining and improving site PFMEAs, leading initiatives to reduce critical Risk Priority Numbers (RPNs).
  • Supporting continuous improvement efforts aligned with Schneider Performance System (SPS), ISO, and UL standards.
  • Collaborating with the product growth team on new product development initiatives.
  • Gathering and analyzing equipment issues, proposing and implementing corrective actions.
  • Building prototypes under R&D delegation to support innovation and testing.
  • Contributing to local product and process knowledge, and resolving technical challenges in manufacturing or customer applications.
  • Ensuring compliance with corporate performance standards and enhancing product robustness.

Who will you report to? Cu stomer Satisfaction & Quality Manager.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Strong technical knowledge of equipment and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with pilot runs and stage gate processes.
  • Ability to independently assess solutions and contribute to technical problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in updating technical documentation and managing design under R&D delegation.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with plant and R&D teams.
  • Commitment to corporate compliance and continuous product improvement.
