Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Ridgeway Post Acute

Location: Petaluma, CA
Pay: $45 - $50 per hour, DOE
Schedule: Full-Time, Part-Time, and PRN Opportunities Available

Ridgeway Post Acute is seeking a compassionate and motivated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dedicated rehab team. Responsibilities
  • Work under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist to provide therapy services
  • Assist with implementing individualized treatment plans to improve resident independence
  • Deliver interventions that support daily living skills, mobility, and overall function
  • Accurately document treatment sessions and resident progress
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to maximize patient outcomes
  • Support residents and their families with education and encouragement

Essential Duties

• Treat patients as directed by the Occupational Therapist.

• Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes per OT Board.

• Treat patients per the physician treatment plan.

• Assist nursing department with training of Restorative Aides.

• Communicate with supervisor and other health team members regarding patient progress, problem and plans.

• Participate in in-services training program for other staff in the facility.

• Record evaluations, daily treatment notes, weekly progress notes, recertification documentation, per Occupational Therapy Board State Practice Act and governmental and third-party payer requirements.

• Record treatment changes per policy and procedures.

• Instruct patient's families or nursing staff in maintenance program and caregiver training in preparation for discharge from therapy services.

• Participate in discharge planning.

• Assist with cleaning and maintenance of treatment area.

• Report any problems with department equipment so that it is maintained in good working order.

• Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with patients/residents, families, staff and professional colleagues.

Qualification

Education and/or Experience

Licensed as a Staff Occupational Therapy Assistant Board of the State.

Proficient in computer skills such as inputting data into programs such as Casamba and Point Click Care.
