Regional Director - Maintenance (Southeast) (Maintenance)



Job Summary

We are looking for a Regional Director of Maintenance to lead our Southeast region. This role involves driving maintenance excellence, transitioning from reactive to proactive maintenance, and implementing strategic initiatives. You will lead maintenance in the region which includes 9 DCs with five maintenance managers with the goal of ensuring a stable, consistent, and reliable operation. Key responsibilities include preventative and predictive maintenance, hands-on shop floor engagement, and developing the team. Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Lead multiple site Maintenance teams including Maintenance Managers, Supervisors and technicians at various locations. Responsible to create and deliver a safe work environment for their technicians and operators in the field.

  • Oversee Maintenance plans and activities at their sites including planned repairs, overhauls, new installation and general facilities upkeep. Analyze overall Maintenance performance trends including equipment reliability, maintenance expenses and productivity. Evaluate effectiveness of preventive maintenance programs and make adjustments to ensure highest levels of uptime and optimized maintenance cost.

  • Oversee evaluation of root cause of equipment breakdowns and develop countermeasures to prevent reoccurrence. Accountable to successful deployment of Maintenance Excellence practices programs and tools such as Preventative and Predictive Maintenance, Spare Parts Management, Root Cause Analysis, Planning & Scheduling, Technical Training and others. May be an active participant in program development. Develop and execute the Maintenance capital plan for branches in their region.

Management Responsibilities:

  • Typically manages through multiple Managers

  • Provide leadership and management to one or more major departments of an operating unit or to a department that has system-wide accountability

  • Strategic, tactical and operational planning (12 + months) for the function or department

  • Direct budgetary responsibility for one or more departments, functions or major projects/programs

  • Interpret and execute policies for departments/projects; develop, recommend and implement new policies or modifications to existing policies

  • Hiring staff, recommending pay increases, performing performance reviews, training and development of staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies

Required Experience:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in technical field or Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Management.

Work Experience

  • A least 7 years of experience in manufacturing or warehouse environment with at least 4 years in industrial Maintenance.

  • At least 4 years of experience managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating and directing people as they work.

  • Knowledge and application of lean tools, root cause analysis, failure mode & effect analysis. Knowledge and use of schematics, test equipment, multi-meters, oscilloscopes, digital thermometers, pressure meters, data loggers, and other relevant maintenance tools. Strong ability to lead and direct a technical team with excellent communications and interpersonal skills. Highly organized and detailed oriented. Project management experience. Problem solving capability.

Position may require:

  • Wearing a full-face respirator

  • Position may require work on weekends or other hours outside of regularly scheduled work hours as business needs dictate

  • Work in the following environmental conditions: Warehouse, varying temperatures & volume of noise

The anticipated salary range for this position:

$132,600.00 - $199,160.00 Annual

The actual salary will vary based on applicant's location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
