Commercial System Design Specialist (Architecture)

  Location: US Remote

Summary:

This role supports commercial sales growth by partnering with the commercial sales team in the design, estimating, and documentation processes that are part of a prospect/customer opportunity.  You will collaborate with commercial sales representatives on opportunities that meet specified criteria and on opportunities as assigned to you.

 What You'll Do:

  •  Work with commercial sales representatives and customers to understand customer needs by technology and stakeholder goals.
  •  Determine proposal concept by identifying and clarifying opportunities and needs, studying requests and attending strategy meetings.
  •  Create and provide a designed system based on customer requirements, loss prevention or life safety goals, facility design constraints and options along with input from vendors, local authorities, peers and other SMEs.
  •  Assist sales team in compiling and documenting the scope of work to be completed by the Install Department for each project.
  •  Track project performance as it relates to system design and functionality on an ongoing basis, adjusting for and responding to needs for product changes, and revisions.
  •  Provide regular and appropriate communication to the Sales and Install Teams, Management, and other stakeholders.
  •  Assist in creating a process to verify the scope of job against agreed upon requirements as well as establishing a technical acceptance and sign-off.
  •  Assist in create of As-Built documents.

What You'll Need:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • 5 years of advanced working knowledge of fire alarm system design with emphasis on fire alarm drawings and fire alarm submittal processes. 
  • Proficiency in specific software such as: AutoCAD and Bluebeam.
  • NICET II certification required. NICET III certification preferred. 
  • Familiarity with and ability to research/interpret codes and permitting requirements as they pertain to the installation of systems and related components and/or trades.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, both hard copy and electronic copy.
  • Valid Driver's License required for occasional travel.  
  • Previous field experience preferred.
