Senior Director — Renewables, Power & Energy Infrastructure (Finance)

Our INFRA practice is comprised of over 650 sector experts and specialized consultants across the Globe. We combine strategic and operational expertise with a deep technical knowledge to support developers, sponsors, lenders, and projects leader to select, structure, improve and execute capital projects in a more efficient and sustainable way.

As we expand our platform, we are seeking a high-performing Senior Director to help drive and grow our Renewables, Power & Energy Infrastructure team. This role is ideal for a senior consultant with a proven background in business development and client delivery, who is looking for an entrepreneurial platform to accelerate their career trajectory.

How you will contribute

This Senior Director role will operate as a key extension of the Managing Director, playing a critical role in leading client engagements, driving business development efforts, and shaping the next phase of growth for the practice. The ideal candidate combines sharp consulting skills, sector expertise, and ambition for personal and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage complex client engagements across renewables, power, and energy infrastructure sectors, ensuring delivery excellence and client satisfaction.
  • Drive business development efforts: cultivate client relationships, identify and pursue new opportunities, and support proposal and pitch development.
  • Develop sector insights and contribute to thought leadership that reinforces A&M's market leadership.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop junior team members, building a high-performing, collaborative team culture.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the Managing Director, contributing to practice establishment and strategy, operations and growth initiatives.
  • Actively build your internal and external network to support the expansion of A&M's brand and client base.
  • Contribute to the Infrastructure practice's financial and operational goals, with an eye toward long-term growth and sustainability.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in business administration, Engineering, or related major. MBA is considered favorable.
  • 12+ years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a top-tier management consulting firm or a leading infrastructure advisory environment.
  • Deep experience in the power, renewables, or broader energy infrastructure sector.
  • Proven track record of business development success - winning, expanding, and managing client relationships.
  • Exceptional project management and leadership skills; ability to manage cross-functional teams and complex deliverables.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with the drive to build and scale a business.
  • Executive presence and strong communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Availability for travel.

Provided the eligibility requirements are met, employees will also receive an annual discretionary contribution to their 401(k) retirement savings plan from Alvarez & Marsal. Additionally, employees are eligible for paid time off including vacation, personal days, seventy-two (72) hours of sick time (prorated for part time employees), ten federal holidays, one floating holiday, and parental leave. The salary range is $215,000 - $235,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance. Please ask your recruiter for details.
